Former major league pitcher Justin Miller, 35, was found dead Wednesday evening, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, TampaBay.com reported.
A cause of death has been determined, according to the report. Miller's body was found shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday; the sheriff's office did not say where it was discovered.
Miller played professionally for 15 seasons with stops with the Toronto Blue Jays, Florida Marlins, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers. He had a 24-14 record with a 4.82 ERA.
He was most famous for a rule baseball put into place because of the number of tattoos he had on his arms. In 2004, MLB required him to wear long sleeves when pitching because opposing batters found his tattoos distracting; thus, the "Justin Miller Rule" went into effect.
He opened a training center called Justin Miller's Legacy Baseball/Softball and Personal Training in Clearwater, Fla. last year.
"I think he'd want the world to know that he always did his best at work and at being a dad," his widow, Jessica Miller, told TampaBay.com. "He always tried."
Miller is also survived by two sons, Joseph, 18, and Johnnie, 7.
