It's bad enough that the New York Jets know Tim Tebow is now part of the AFC East rival New England Patriots. Unfortunately, ESPNNewYork.com also reports Tebow is still costing the Jets more money than the Patriots spent to add him.
According to the website, the terms of the Jets' 2012 trade with Denver to acquire Tebow for one season has them still paying $1.53 million to the Broncos. That's in stark contrast to the $1.36 million contract — with no guaranteed money over two years — the Patriots used to sign Tebow last week.
There's no guarantee Tebow will make New England's final roster. If he does, you can bet the Patriots will find a way to make him keep lingering in the minds of the Jets on the field. Circle Sept. 12 during NFL Week 2 — that's when the teams face off first in '13 on a Thursday night at Gillette Stadium.
